The members of the newly re-appointed Committee for Gender Balance in Research are looking forward to motivating Norwegian institutions to implement gender equality measures in the research sector.
Having changed its name from the Committe for Mainstreaming – Women in Science at the start of its third term, the committee continues its work to support and provide recommendations on measures that can contribute to gender equality within the university and college sector as well as the research institute sector.
Gerd Bjørhovde
The committee is chaired by Professor Gerd Bjørhovde of the University of Tromsø.
Jesper Simonsen, Director of the Department for Global Issues at the Research Council, will serve on the committee as a full member. Special Adviser Signe Bang (Department for Clinical Medicine and Public Health) has been appointed substitute member.
