Latvian-Norwegian Research Programme

The Latvian-Norwegian Research Programme is currently under elaboration. A programme plan proposal is currently being evaluated. Upon approval, a Programme Agreement will be signed and preparations will be made made for the launch of the programme.

Both Norwegian and Latvian research institutions are encouraged to prepare for the upcoming call by establishing contact with potential partners and registering in the Partner Search Database.

Implementing Agency: Valsts izglitibas attistibas agentura (VIAA)
(State Education Development Agency)

Programme size: 5 mill EUR (37.6 mill NOK) The majority of this sum will be allocated to research projects which will be selected on the basis of calls for proposals and evaluation by independent, international experts.

Time line

  • The main call is due to be announced early in 2013.
  • An information and brokerage event is foreseen in Riga in connection with the launch of the call.

Updated information on the Latvian-Norwegian Research Programme will be posted on this page. Information on new developments will also be conveyed in the Research Council Newsletter. Once the call is open it will be published both on the pages of SEDA and the Research Council of Norway.
Details on funding (project max. size, level of contribution, funding for preparation costs, ect.) will be published once the Programme Agreement has been signed.
