The department is responsible for several industry-oriented funding programmes that take as their point of departure the specific needs of the individual companies, not a particular branch of industry or a specific thematic area.

Programme for User-driven Research-based Innovation (BIA) provides support to companies’ own R&D projects.
EUROSTARS and EUREKA (in Norwegian) are EU initiatives aimed at increasing research activities in companies.
Programme for Commercialising R&D Results (FORNY2020) is an instrument promoting the commercialisation of R&D results.
The Industrial Ph.D. Scheme provides support for a three-year period during which an employee at a Norwegian company may pursue a doctoral degree.
Centre for Research-based Innovation Scheme (SFI) is an initiative focusing on long-term cooperation between companies conducting R&D activities and leading research groups.
