IT Department
This department services the Research Council's central IT needs and is responsible for ensuring that all IT tools are updated and functional.
Director: Wilhelm Friis-Baastad
The department is in charge of procuring, organising and overseeing common ICT systems within the Research Council, and is responsible for systems operation maintenance, IT security, systems development and general user support. Follow-up of these services is carried out in cooperation with the relevant process and system owners.
The Research Council’s external ICT services, including the various websites (www.forskningsradet.no and several others), the eSøknad electronic application submission system, the eSak electronic processing system and the the SkatteFUNN tax deduction scheme processing system, are all administered externally.
The Research Council’s internal ICT services comprise the network, equipment, standard systems and customised systems that support key research administration services. This includes the knowledge base contained in project and client databases. The department maintains, updates and monitors in excess of 100 servers, some 600 PC work stations, and provides daily support to 400 Research Council in-house and external users.
