The Research Council has several funding schemes it can use to promote Norwegian participation in the EU’s Seventh Framework Programme (FP7).
Project Establishment Support - PES
This type of support is given to universities, university colleges, institutes, enterprises and other to cover expenses in connection with applications to FP7.

Top-up funding of Marie Curie grants
Outgoing MC research fellows shall enjoy the same conditions as those who go abroad with funding from RCN. Incoming MC research fellows at the inexperienced level shall have the same conditions as doctoral fellows with funding from RCN.

Funding of Starting Grant applicants
A national funding system for Starting Grant applicants from Norway who satisfy the ERC’s excellence criteria, but for budgetary reasons do not receive allocations. The funding for individual projects will be 75 per cent of the ECR’s recommendation.
