User-driven innovation projects promote major value creation for the participating companies as well as for society at large. Projects are initiated by industrial players, and have their basis in the companies own strategies and needs.
Knowledge-building projects with user involvement (KMB)
Knowledge-building projects with user involvement promote long-term, industry-oriented researcher training and enhance expertise among researchers in thematic areas that are essential to Norwegian trade and industry.
Programme for User-driven Research-based (BIA)
BIA is open to all branches of industry and thematic areas. BIA provides partial financing for ambitious R&D projects in areas that are not eligible for funding under Research Council programmes with a thematic or industry-specific focus.
The SkatteFUNN tax deduction scheme
SkatteFUNN is one of the Research Council's most widely accessible funding instruments. Under this scheme, all businesses subject to taxation in Norway are eligible for a tax deduction of up to 20 per cent of the costs related to R&D activity.
