Ten years ago, stem cell research and its potential for cultivating tissue and organs was seen as fascinating but unreal, and there was an ongoing, heated debate on ethics. Where do we stand in 2013?
The Stem Cell Research Programme (STAMCELLER) is organising a half-day conference on behalf of the Research Council of Norway to discuss the status of stem cell research in 2013 and whether the goal of increasing the use of stem cells in the treatment of serious disease and injury is within reach.
The conference will focus on clinical stem cell research with a number of key researchers slated to offer insights into the potential for stem cell research and its inherent challenges.
