Seminar: Tourism research – research dissemination and knowledge needs

Location:
Radisson SAS Airport Hotel, Gardermoen
From:
26.01.2010 00:00 CET
To:
27.01.2010 00:00 CET
The Research Council's Research Programme on Nature-based Industry (NATUROGNÆRING) invites representatives from ministries, trade and industry, the public administration and the research community to discuss Norwegian tourism research as a tool for achieving a more coherent approach to tourism.

Tourism R&D will be viewed in a broader context, based on the needs of the tourism industry – in relation to nature, logistics, profitability, and destination development.

The seminar will offer input on how to lay the foundation for well-coordinated political initiatives involving R&D and industrial policy, particularly vis-à-vis the Ministry of Trade and Industry, the Ministry of Agriculture and Food and the Ministry of Fisheries and Coastal Affairs.

Presentations

Day 1: Nature-based tourism, with a primary focus on the project portfolio of the NATUROGNÆRING programme. Project presentations and discussion of new research needs, future research paths and potential partners.

Day 2: Knowledge base for policy formation and presentation of tourism-related projects under the SkatteFUNN tax deduction scheme. Presentations from representatives of the ministries, the tourism industry and the research community.

Registration and programme

The deadline for registration is 10 January 2010. The seminar is free of charge, but participants are expected to cover their own travel and accommodation expenses.
