A total of nearly NOK 1 billion has been allocated in two funding rounds under the National Financing Initiative for Research Infrastructure (INFRASTRUKTUR). INFRA-Day provides a meeting-place for representatives of the ministries and the Research Council, politicians and key persons at the institutions seeking funding under the initiative.

The focus of the conference is on the national role of the projects: What type of role should the institutions assume, and what responsibilities are inherent in the grant award? How can challenges related to accessibility, operations and further development of infrastructure be solved? What are the experiences of the projects so far?

During the conference the Research Council will present its work on revising the national strategy for research infrastructure, which includes updating the Norwegian Roadmap for Research Infrastructure. In addition, representatives of projects receiving funding under the INFRASTRUKTUR initiative will present their projects and share their experiences of what it means to assume a national role.

The conference language will be Norwegian. The deadline for registration is 31 January 2012, and the conference is free of charge. A number of rooms have been reserved at the Clarion Hotel Royal Christiania for participants. A reservation code will be provided upon registration.

More information, the programme and the registration form may be found on the conference’s webpage (in Norwegian).
